Sarah Peck

"Jewelry it seems, found me.” states Sarah Peck, our newest goldsmith and budding designer. Her experience in art and design started with working for Peggy Detmers creating life size bronze sculptors out of wax and clay. This, combined with multiple years of working with a residential interior design firm in her hometown of Rapid City, South Dakota, was the beginning of she calls her “creative inertia.”

Next, she made her way to San Francisco where she gained more experience working with a firm in the commercial design industry. A chance to travel led her to Europe where she experienced the rich culture and deep past of the classical arts. Her arrival home for a family wedding in 2001 united her with her cousin Doug Glenn who invited her to come to the Big Island of Hawaii and apprentice under him to become a goldsmith.

Sarah says, “In the beginning, I found my past experience in sculpting aided in the lost wax design process, while my work with interior design provided a broad template of artistic concepts
